K.J. Stevens was born June 4th, 1973 in
Stevens grew up in the rural township of Maple Ridge and spent much of his youth outdoors. Whether hunting or fishing, playing football, or hiking through the woods, Stevens was not far from nature. And it was there, in the countryside of Maple Ridge, that Stevens began to tune his senses to the simple, sometimes brutal, beauty that surrounded him.
Stevens began writing at a very young age, keeping a diary, and penning stories and poems for family and friends. Writing was not only his way of making sense of the world, but it was also is way of communicating with it.
And Stevens has kept communicating.
His writing has appeared in The Adirondack Review, Fluid Magazine, Me Three, Circle Magazine, Cellar Door, Prose Ax, Temenos, and BloodLotus. Stevens has written three short story collections (
